Cities of Love was formed in Singapore in August 2010, by Mr. Tai Lee Siang and Ms. Valerie Ang, out of a passion to transform lives, environments, and societies. They believe that everyone has the capability to bring change – people are change agents. Cities of Love is instrumental in creating opportunities in accumulating and showcasing holistic. Cities of Love hopes to be a vehicle of change through holistic creations that promote sustainable living. Its long-term vision is to develop a basket of diverse creative projects that could include products, publications, multi-media productions, and even gastronomic experiences. Curating and introducing innovations with Paradigm shifts that are sustainable as well as economically viable are crucial to progressive, qualitative changes. Relevant solutions can then contribute to the well-being and health of our communities, our societies, our cities, therefore, our Earth. These are arms of love extended to the communities. The cumulative impact of everyone’s contributions is phenomenal, resulting in harmonious and quality living.
Awards for sustainability are often given to more prominent figures such as government agencies corporations or business leaders who have helped to implement large-scale transformational projects. While their impacts are applaudable and desirable, we must seek out and recognize the contributions of individuals or smaller organizations. Cities of Love Award or COLA is, birthed as an award to recognize the efforts made by the ordinary person or enterprises. Innovative solutions that enhance one’s quality of life, work or play contribute to the love and care for the communities.”
